Changing our perspective can be a powerful asset in shifting our own actions, interactions and reactions to the challenges and stressors of life. Entering into therapy can be overwhelming and a bit scary; but it can also be a great opportunity to understand where you have been, consider where you are in this moment, and to work toward making conscious choices about your path toward the future, where it goes & what it looks like.

As a therapist I am a collaborator; our work together will be interactive & dynamic. I encourage clients to be open, honest, and willing to learn, grow & change. I will provide you a safe space to explore & challenge how/what you think & feel as well as how you react & respond to everyday stressors with a goal of learning skills & strategies for healthy coping.

I believe my relatable personality and style allows me to work successfully with a developmental spectrum of individuals and adapt my counseling approach, activities and interventions to meet and address the expressed needs of my clients. I work to create a relationship that is built on mutual respect, trust and acceptance. You will not walk alone.

Learn strategies that will strengthen your interpersonal skills and create a greater sense of confidence in your ability to connect with others. Learn effective communication skills to improve your adaptability to a variety of social situations and groups. Strengthen your knowledge and understanding of social expectations. Identify interests, events and opportunities to connect with peers.

8 weeks/90-minute sessions

Mondays 5:00-6:30 pm for ages 18+.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is widely understood as talk therapy, sitting with a practitioner and solely focusing on our wounds of the past. Yet, psychotherapy is a far more complicated and nuanced experience.

If it seems that an element of the past is impacting your current life, then it is worthwhile to explore.  A Psychotherapist is your guide in the exploration, processing, and ultimately, moving beyond unwanted ties to trauma, difficult experiences or unhealthy relationships.

Psychotherapy isn’t just rooted in the past.  Often it is about releasing the damaging beliefs that are hindering your life's movement forward. It is about noticing and changing behaviors that are no longer serving you, allowing you to gain insight into who you currently are while gathering and creating a clear picture of who you'd like to be.  The Psychotherapist is present to offer ideas, strategies, insight, resources and guidance in support of your growth and to walk with you along your journey to wellness.

However, when you leave the therapy session you must become your own advocate.  Our time together in each session is brief, therefore, it becomes your job to take what was accomplished in-session and bring it forward into daily life; thus, creating lasting change. In this way, with clear intent and purposeful action, desired change is achieved.
